Following one 'unofficial' draft and another leaked version, the Government has ended speculation by at last publishing its very own draft of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) for official consultation. Vince Cable, Business Secretary, proclaims it to be “a key element of the plan for growth”, adding that, "…strong, sustainable growth is the Government's top priority”.
The NPPF will be critical in formulating future development proposals. There is a clear and positive message running through the draft - it is pro-growth, pro-economic recovery and pro-development. It represents a significant change from what has come before
