Newcastle University students will soon have no excuse for being late for lectures after NLP secured planning permission on behalf of the University for new student accommodation within the heart of the city centre campus.
The scheme, which will create 346 student bed spaces, involves the refurbishment of an existing terrace partly used by the University for office accommodation, and the erection of two new purpose built accommodation blocks.
NLP and the project team worked closely with Newcastle City Council to develop a scheme which respects both the character and appearance of the area whilst delivering a significant quantum of student bed spaces contributing to meeting the needs of the University.
This permission will assist the University in providing modern student accommodation requirements and complements the University’s high quality teaching and research facilities.
