Maritime Museum Shortlisted for Planning Award

October 12, 2011

The new Sammy Ofer South West Wing at the Greenwich Maritime Museum has just been shortlisted for the RTPI ‘Best Built’ London Project Award, 2011.

NLP secured planning and listed building consent for this important new building and public space which included major interventions to a grade I listed building, a registered park, conservation area and World Heritage Site.

The high quality project introduces improved facilities for visitors as well as exemplary energy saving measures, including state of the art underground thermal storage.

The building was completed on time and within budget and will play an important (albeit temporary) role as a press centre during the forthcoming Olympic equestrian events in 2012.
