Using evidence of major need allied to the Council’s rarely used exceptions provisions, NLP has obtained full permission for 8 affordable dwellings in the rural Vale of Glamorgan on behalf of Newydd Housing Association. The development proposal submitted under the 'exceptions' policy is aimed at individuals from the local area who either can’t get access to housing or have been forced to move away owing to spiralling housing costs. A local lettings policy applied through the S106 agreement proved an attractive formula with strong support at Planning Committee.
This permission represents a major success in delivering much needed affordable homes in the rural Vale and we hope that it is the first in a series of similar schemes for our client.
