NLP's Simon Coop Plans for Economic Growth

February 21, 2012

Simon Coop took to the stage at the South West Housing Initiative Housing Summit in Bristol to discuss to what extent the town planning system can help stimulate economic growth.

The Summit began with politicians battling it out on Government proposals for planning reform with Councillor Anthony Negus of Bristol City Council giving the local authority perspective. Simon Coop kicked off the afternoon session arguing, "It's the economy stupid!" which development delivery hinges on. He also discussed NLP’s HEaDROOM and eVALUATE models which aid developers by demonstrating how economic aspirations might be met. The lively debate continued with speakers from the HCA and housebuilders.

The summit was a great opportunity to think through the on-going housing crisis and to discuss how we might try to respond here in the South West.
