NLP's success working to unlock the potential of sites has been demonstrated this month with the submission of a planning application for Capital Shopping Centre (CSC) for expansion at Lakeside Shopping Centre, Thurrock.
6 years ago policy said no retail growth should be allowed at Lakeside. Today, following NLP's planning policy positioning work, on behalf of CSC, policy allows for 50,000 sq m of new comparison retail floorspace.
CSC' s proposals represent the first step in the planned transformation of Lakeside to a new Regional Centre, and represent a £180 million investment in Thurrock, creating over 2,600 jobs in the area.
We are delighted that our work has allowed CSC to take another major step forward in realising its ambition for further expansion at Lakeside. These exciting new proposals are helping to deliver plan led growth and the next step in the evolution of Lakeside.
