After two previous call-in inquiries and a judicial review on the Welsh Assembly's decision, NLP has again been appointed by Cardiff Council to present the case against the development of 320 dwellings in the bowl of a suburban open reservoir. Llanishen Reservoir forms part of a strategic open space corridor connecting the City to the countryside beyond. It is no longer used for water supply but its later use for sailing was disrupted by draining down 'for maintenance purposes', with years needed to refill. Since the last inquiry, several new factors have emerged, including the listing of the reservoir embankments.
NLP's Chairman, Dr Malcolm Hockaday said:
It's great that the Council trusts us yet again to present its best case in this long running saga. The new matters will require our further specialist experience but the essence of the case is in presenting what is right for the long-term interests of the City.
