A Sound Employment Land Review for Rushmoor

October 4, 2011

Rushmoor's Core Strategy has been found sound by an Inspector following its public examination earlier this year. The Inspectors Report includes explicit endorsement of policies based on NLP's Employment Land Review (ELR), completed in 2009.  The NLP work, which also covered Hart and Surrey Heath districts, identified in an oversupply of B1 space, and this was accepted by the Inspector who agreed that it was appropriate to release some land for non B-class activity and, at the same time, protect other land for B2 and B8 purposes. Also in Rushmoor, NLP had completed an economic impact report on Farnborough Airport which was an important factor in the joint Secretary of States' decision on the airport's appeal in March 2011.

NLP is a market leader in preparing employment land reviews and assessing the spatial and land use implications of economic change. The Rushmoor Inspector's Report continues NLP's 100% record of sound ELRs and NLP is continuing to innovate in our approach to economic evidence base work through our WORKspace methodology.
