Mole Valley District Council have granted outline planning permission for new and replacement buildings including a music school and boarding house at the City of London Freemen's School in Ashtead, Surrey.
The permission comprises over 5,000sqm of new floorspace in the Green Belt. It follows NLP's pre-application strategy taken forward by the City of London of responsive engagement with the public, Local Planning Authority, English Heritage and other local groups. The outline permission with parameter plans identifying maximum and minimum development envelopes gives the school flexibility to take forward reserved matters submissions, whilst respecting listed buildings, the green belt and the historic parkland setting of this sensitive location.
This is a great outcome for the School and endorsement of our engagement and parameter plans strategy. The permission enables the School to improve its facilities and meet its aspirations in a phased manner whilst enhancing historic assets
