NLP has advised on neighbourhood regeneration and renewed in Hartlepool since the late 1990’s. We have advised the Borough Council, the New Deal for Communities partnership (NDC) and the housing regeneration company on evidence, strategy and delivery for a multi-million pound programme of housing clearance and redevelopment.
Our work has included:
- Area Masterplans and site assembly
- Housing market updates;
- A town-wide housing regeneration strategy;
- The selection of delivery vehicle and procurement of Registered Provider (RP) and development partners;
- Feasibility and viability assessments;
- A Commercial Areas Renewal Strategy; and
- Expert evidence to support a number of Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO).
Across Tees Valley, NLP has provided support on a range of similar area regeneration projects, including area masterplans for Greater Eston, South Bank, Whinney Banks, Parkfield, Middlesbrough Older Housing area and Grove Hill. NLP also prepared Tees Valley’s first Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA) and its 2009 update. Following the 2010 Spending Review, NLP prepared the exit strategy for each of the intervention areas.
