NLP provided economic advice and planning consultancy to City Development Company 1NG on this flagship mixed-use scheme on the prominent 10ha site of the former Scottish and Newcastle brewery in Newcastle City Centre.
Our work included an economic appraisal of three development options for the site taking account of principles in the HM Treasury Green Book. The appraisal assessed the monetary and non-monetary costs and benefits of each option enabling a Preferred Option to be selected. The appraisal was used to underpin a Regional Growth Fund application.
NLP also provided planning input to the scheme masterplan and helped to prepared the planning application for the project, working alongside the scheme architects.
