NLP has secured planning permission and listed building consent for the expansion (to a total of 75 bedrooms) and upgrading of the Grade II listed Bush Hall Hotel in the Hertfordshire green belt.
Bush Hall forms part of the Gascoyne - Cecil Estate which also own Hatfield House. The approval will not only enable the repair of the listed building, but secure its long term future and provide wider benefits to the local economy and the Estate.
NLP assisted in developing the scheme which enhances the listed building and its rural Hertfordshire setting. In the planning application NLP successfully argued that the proposals meet the English Heritage Enabling Development Policy tests which constituted 'very special circumstances' to outweigh harm to the green belt. In addition, NLP also demonstrated that the proposals meet a need for additional hotel accommodation in Welwyn, Hatfield.
